Content policy & DMCA

User content

Members can publish short highlights (excerpts capped at 500 characters in public view), ratings, reviews and reading lists. Content that is unlawful, hateful, spam, or that reproduces substantial portions of a copyrighted work is not allowed and will be removed. Every profile, highlight and review carries a report action; you can also block any member from their profile page.

Book data & covers

Full book texts on Lumina are public-domain works. Modern titles appear as bibliographic metadata with original AI-written analyses (never substitutes for the text); cover images are served from Open Library and Google Books under their respective terms.

DMCA takedowns

If you believe content on Lumina infringes your copyright, email dmca@luminashelves.com with: (1) the URL of the material, (2) identification of the copyrighted work, (3) your contact details, (4) a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorized, and (5) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for them. We respond promptly, remove infringing material, and terminate repeat infringers' accounts.

Counter-notice

If your content was removed in error, reply to the takedown notice with a counter-notification including the material's prior URL, your contact details, and a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was mistaken.
